The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has promised to support the family of Sarah Eperu, the former party Spokesperson who died on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Lifelink Hospital in Kyaliwajala, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district.

This was revealed by the FDC party Spokesperson, John Kikonyogo, as the party mourned Eperu’s demise.

Kikonyogo described Eperu as an outspoken female activist who was committed to the party. He, therefore, promised that the party would support the family to give Eperu a recognizable official sendoff.

“She was a lady who was committed, and she was FDC till her death; and as a party, we are in touch with the family so that we can have a good sendoff for our sister,” Kikonyogo noted.

While addressing members of the press on April 8, 2024, at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, Kikonyogo said that the party is saddened by the passing of Eperu.

“As a party, FDC mourns a fighter and founding member, Sarah Eperu; she was once our spokesperson, women representative, and a former district chairperson of Ngora; she was a founding member right from the days of the reform agenda,” Kikonyogo said.

Several people who worked with Eperu have described her as an iron lady who many times challenged the status quo and was very passionate about issues affecting women.
