FDC Katonga Faction Sets New Dates for NEC, Delegates Conference

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Katonga Faction has unveiled new dates for the forthcoming party events, including the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting and the National Delegates Conference.

According to Michael Kabaziguruka, the Chief Electoral Commissioner for the FDC interim leadership headed by Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, the NEC meeting will be held on February 21, 2024, and the National Delegates Conference on March 19, 2024.

He made the remarks during the press conference held at party offices at Katonga Road on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

According to Kabaziguruka, the NEC is composed of the party chairpersons at the district level, party Members of Parliament, and Members of the National Executive Council (NEC).

He added that the purpose of the NEC meeting is to prepare for the National Delegates Conference, whose purpose is to elect the party’s Executive Committee.

While addressing the media, Kabaziguruka appealed to some of the party leaders at the district level to end the electoral process and compile the list of National Council members.

He also revealed that the party elections at the village and parish levels have been successfully conducted.

On the other hand, the FDC Najjanankumbi Faction also issued a notice inviting those who wanted to express interest in the different party leadership positions to pick up forms at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
