Cement mixer truck flips over a Mitsubishi RVR

A lawyer in Uganda has lost his life in an accident that occurred on the Entebbe-Kampala Expressway near Nkumba University traffic lights on April 17, 2024.

The accident, which involved a cement mixer truck with registration number UAN 836D, lost control, flipped over, and landed on a Mitsubishi RVR with registration UBQ 371P.

The Mitsubishi RVR had a lawyer, Raphael Okiot, who has been confirmed dead.

Rapheal Okiot was a Ugandan lawyer, working with KMT Advocates, and a lecturer of law at Uganda Christian University (UCU).

According to eyewitnesses, he was trapped in the wreckage for a while as rescue personnel struggled to free him.

The driver of the cement truck is currently receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility after reportedly sustaining injuries.

Authorities said they are investigating the cause of the accident, which is still unknown.
