Fatal Accident Claims Eight Lives on Kampala-Masaka Highway

A tragic accident along the Kampala-Masaka highway has claimed the lives of eight people after a Jaguar bus collided with a Fuso truck head-on.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, September 1, 2024, around 4:00 AM in Bulimbaale village, when a Jaguar bus, registration number UBP 964T, en route to Kigali, had a head-on collision with a Fuso truck, registration number UAV 988N, traveling in the opposite direction.

Paulo Habasa, the Masaka Branch Manager of the Uganda Red Cross Society, said that the crash led to multiple fatalities, with some victims pronounced dead at the scene.

“Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured victims to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital for further medical attention,” he said.
