European Union to Continue Supporting Uganda’s Tourism Sector-Ambasador Xavier

The French Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Sticker Xavier under the European Union has pledged to continue supporting the Uganda Tourism sector.

While speaking at the tourism thematic conference on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Hotel Africana in Kampala, the Ambassador emphasized the need for continued partnership with the Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities as a way of promoting tourism in Uganda.

“Uganda is blessed with a lot of Flora and Fauna and with lots of potential in the tourism industry. Continued good working relationship will benefit the industry as we will see more people coming from Europe to visit Uganda,” Xavier said.

“With increased global warming, the time has come to support tourism that is in connection with conservation and environmental protection,” Xavier added.

The conference which was attended by partners of the tourism sector, officials from Ministry of Tourism, envoys from different embassies and other members of the public.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities in partnership with Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (CEDP), Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Explore Uganda, under the theme Leveraging the Tourism Industry as a Pivot for Economic Recovery through Sustainable Investment, Improved Market Access and Visibility.
