The management of the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway under the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has issued a public advisory to all road users to exercise caution on the Entebbe expressway during the rainy season.

In a statement released on November 15, 2024, on their official X handle, the authority emphasized the importance of adhering to specific guidelines to ensure safety during bad weather conditions.

UNRA urged road users to reduce speed since wet road conditions significantly reduce traction, making it essential to slow down to maintain control of the vehicle and to maintain a firm grip on the steering wheel.

“Keep both hands firmly on the steering wheel to respond effectively to changing road conditions,’’ the statement read in part.

The authority further asked the motorists to prioritize visibility while driving on the express since some people drive so fast.

“If visibility is compromised due to heavy rainfall, pull over to a safe location, activate hazard lights, and wait for the weather to improve and use headlights and windshield wipers to enhance visibility and ensure optimal driving conditions to keep everyone safe,” the management stated.

By following these simple yet crucial guidelines, drivers can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and ensure a safe journey on the Kampala-Entebbe Express.
