Former One Direction star, Liam Payne has died in Argentina after reportedly falling from a hotel balcony.

According to TMZ, the 31-year-old singer was in Buenos Aires for pal Niall Horan’s tour when he tragically plunged from the third floor on Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2024.

“Liam Payne has died at the age of 31 after reportedly falling from a balcony in Argentina. We are extremely shocked and heartbroken to hear this news. Sending our love to his family, friends, and fans around the world,” iheartradio tweeted.

Preliminary reports indicate that police in Buenos Aires were contacted by a worker at the hotel who reported an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol.

Hotel workers said that they heard a loud sound in the hotel’s courtyard before the One Direction star’s body was discovered.

According to local media, Payne had been acting erratically in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop’ before he had to be carried back to his room.

The English singer was known for his breathtaking music, including What Makes You Beautiful, Night Changes, Steal My Girl, For You, Kiss You, Story of My Life, Strip That Down, and many others.

Payne, an English singer who rose to fame as a member of the pop boy band One Direction, made his debut as a singer in 2008 when he auditioned for the British television series, The X Factor. After being eliminated from the competition, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other boys to form One Direction, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Payne worked with other producers under the monikers Big Payno and Payno, creating remixes for songs by his group and Cheryl.
