A Ugandan singer and the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, also founder of big talent entertainment, Eddy Kenzo, real name Edrisah Musuuza, has donated USD 300, which is equivalent to approximately Ugx 1.1 million, towards Blossoms of Hope Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that helps children attain their education.

Kenzo gave his contribution during a football match dubbed “Celebrity Charity Game,” an event organized by The Football Nations Corporate League, at the Mtn Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala city on Sunday, April 14, 2024, where Team Martin Mateja played against Team Eddy Kenzo.

In an interview with our reporter at the stadium, Kenzo said that giving back to the less advantaged is his way of giving glory to God by sharing the little that he has achieved over the years.

“Giving back is my thing; I am just giving glory to God. I serve God by loving people. It is always good to share the little that I have with people, especially innocent kids,” Kenzo said.

The 34-year-old Grammy nominee stressed that it gives him hope to share with others because he knows what it means to have nothing.

“So it really gives me hope to have something small, and then we share. It is very important to use what I have to put a smile on somebody’s face,” Kenzo added.

During the charity match, several individuals, companies, and organizations donated various items, including but not limited to cash (Zabri Sports gave USD 200, around Ugx 780,000, Audio Beam Events contributed worth Ugx 200,000, Auto Mobile Association of Uganda Ugx 200,000, Ka cyber technologies Ugx 300,000, and Kagwerawo bet.simple which was also the sponsor of the match contributed approximately Ugx 800,000), liquid soap, toiletries, clothes, and mineral water, among others.

Blossoms for Hope Foundation is an NGO that was formed by youths. It started on a small scale in 2017 until it was fully registered in 2023 with the NGO bureau. It deals with women’s rights, charity organizations, and skill development by enriching children’s ability to learn how to survive on their own.
