East Africa UK Expo: A Key Platform for Promoting Uganda’s Tourism

Tio Tours and Travel, a prominent tour and travel company based in Kampala, Uganda, has organized the East Africa United Kingdom (UK) Tourism and Cultural Expo 2024, due to happen from November 8-9, 2024, at the Rembrandt Hotel, London.

Themed under Enhancing Tourism as an Engine for Social and Economic Transformation, this could be one of the pivotal platforms for promoting Uganda’s tourism.

The event, which is coinciding with the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, is significant for promoting not only East African tourism and culture but also Uganda offering it to a global audience.

Aimed at showingcase the potential of East Africa’s tourism sector, the event is expected to attract a diverse group of participants, including business leaders, entrepreneurs, cultural figures, and policymakers from East Africa and the UK.

Among the representatives from East Africa is Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, the 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs in Uganda, who will also be the guest of honor at the event.

According to the travel company, attendees will explore opportunities for investment partnerships and collaborations in tourism, travel, and cultural exchange.

The event organizers said that the Expo will also feature exhibitors from various sectors, including tour operators, travel agencies, hospitality businesses, and government tourism boards.

Additionally, cultural performances, panel discussions, and key note speakers will provide insights into how East Africa is exploiting its rich cultural heritage and tourism resources for socio-economic development.

The travel company further noted that a variety of exhibitors will show case offerings from luxury safaris to eco-friendly accommodations, providing insights into East Africa’s travel experiences.

Tourism industry experts are also expected to lead the discussions on sustainable tourism practices, wildlife conservation, and emerging tourism trends.
