DP Calls for Security Vigilance Amid Terrorism Threat

The Uganda Young Democrats have called for extreme security vigilance by the residents to ensure safety amid the increasing terrorism threat in the country.

On Monday, September 4th, 2023, while addressing the weekly security press briefing, Police Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga said they had detonated a total of six improvised explosive devices within the city.

Ismail Kiirya, the UYD President, said on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, during a media briefing that residents should maintain high consciousness while in any public gathering.

Kiirya urged the public to report any suspicious individuals or devices in the community to the police.

He emphasized that while ensuring vigilance, the public should allow security to carry out their duties.

On Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Miracle Centre Church, belonging to Pastor Kayanja, police detonated an IED bomb that had been planted by the suspected terrorists.
