The third Deputy Prime Minister, Lukia Nakadama has directed for the dismissal of Parish Chiefs who are failing the Parish Development Model program (PDM).

Nakadama said this while launching the Financial Inclusion Program of PDM, due to poor data information in the system, in Mayuge district.

She blamed Parish Chiefs for sabotaging PDM and instructed the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to dismiss them with immediate effect, noting that the CAOs have an obligation of dismissing lash chiefs.

“The challenge we have is that Parish Chiefs have not performed to our expectations. When you visit parishes, people do not know the chiefs because they never visit,” Nakadama said.

According to the third Prime Minister, Parish Chiefs are supposed to be on ground to pick information, help people to be registered and inform them on enterprises they are supposed to invest in. However they are doing the exact opposite.

With the launch of the Financial Inclusion Program, residents are optimistic that they will see funds consistently.
