An unidentified man has attacked and beheaded an unidentified lady in Katwe in Kampala district during broad daylight.

The incident happened on September 9, 2024, in Jjuko zone, Katwe, when an unidentified man caught a machete and cut off the head of a lady who was walking within the area.

According to the eyewitnesses, the man was seen at a kiosk drinking soda; however, when he saw the lady walking, he got up and started running after the lady, who had no idea that she was being sought by him, then he cut off her head and ran away.

They added that after committing this heinous crime, he was, however, rounded up by the locals, beaten up until he died.

’’The two might have recently separated, which did not sit well with the man, hence why he killed her in such a gruesome manner; however, police need to carry out investigations on who they both are because they are both new in this area,’’ the eyewitnesses revealed.

In an interview with journalists, the LC I Chairman of Jjuko zone, Ssalongo Jemba, revealed that the lady was new in the area and had just relocated to the locality two weeks ago, hence why most of the locals didn’t know her.

Jemba added that both the deceased might have been ex-lovers and might have had some misunderstandings that made the lady leave the man, which was a sour pill to swallow for the guy.

’’The murderer was carrying a brown bag while drinking soda, but when he saw the girl walking, he ran after her, removed the machete, and cut off her head with no remorse at all,’’ Jemba noted.

Jemba further revealed that the murderer was lynched to death by the locals as he was fleeing at Hollywood in Katwe, adding that when Katwe police arrived at the crime scene, the bodies were taken for postmortem examinations.

The police urged landlords and local leaders to always register new people in the area, citing an example of the victim who was unknown in the area. However, some locals said that the victim was a waitress in one of the local restaurants in Katwe.
