Cubs Fly Home Today After Remarkable First-Ever FIFA World Cup Appearance

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed that Uganda’s historic U17 national team, the Cubs, will touch down today, Friday, 21st November 2025, at 3:30 pm at Entebbe International Airport.

Their return marks the end of a landmark campaign that delivered Uganda’s first-ever appearance at a FIFA World Cup.

FUFA announced the homecoming early this morning, encouraging the public to give the boys a memorable reception after their stunning run in Qatar.

“We encourage all fans and stakeholders to turn out in large numbers to welcome the team today. The boys have represented the country with great honour, reaching the Round of 16 on their first attempt,” sai FUFA Communications Director Ahmed Hussein said.

He further revealed that FUFA will organise a special celebration event to honour the team’s achievements, noting that all individuals and partners who contributed to the Cubs’ success will be invited to the ceremony.
