The disastrous Maui wildfires that started on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, and still continue to burn the Island have destroyed the historical Hawaiian town of Lahaina in Maui Island and has already claimed lives of at least 106 people, while thousands of residents and tourists were left stranded, and over 2,200 structures damaged.

Hawaii’s Governor, Josh Green, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, warned that more dozens could be dead on the Maui Island following the disastrous wildfires.

The historic town of Lahaina is best known for its vibrant history and picturesque charm. Lahaina sits on Maui a relatively small Island with limited developable area, and its real estate is some of the most expensive in Hawaii.
