Australia-based Ugandan cardiologist, Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi is dead,  according to the media reports.

Dr.Kiyingi who has been a government critic has lived in Australia since 1982, and according to reports from Uganda security agencies including police, Kiyingi has been on the list of wanted criminals in Uganda on charges related to terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and crimes against humanity over the killings of Muslim clerics in 2015 and 2016.

Founder of Dehezi intl, the first big computer shop in Uganda was charged in 2005 for the murder of his wife Robinah Kiyinji at her gate in Buziga. She was the Chairperson of Transparency International, an Anti-Corruption agency.

In 2015, Kiyingi was also charged for sponsoring terrorist activities by the Allied Democratic Forces ( ADF). However, he denied such allegations, reasoning that it was Museveni’s efforts to frustrate his interests in Uganda’s presidency.

The deceased was charged together with his two friends including Berwanaho, and Mugisha who was allegedly a police officer. However, the key suspect identified as Atwine who is believed to have pulled the trigger was later murdered at Murchison Bay.

Also, the founder of the Uganda Federal Democratic Organisation (UFDO), Kiyingi unsuccessfully attempted to contest for the presidency several times.

Details about the cause of the death of the 69-year-old Cardiologist are still scanty and by the time of filing this story, none was readily available but sources indicate that his death has been shared by his wife Mayimuna Nakayiila on her Facebook page and Charles Rwomushana on his twitter (X) handle.
