The business community in Kampala is in shock after popular city businessman Anthony Mutinisa was shot and killed by a private security guard on the evening of Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his office in Ntinda Ministers Village.

According to police reports, the two were involved in a heated argument before the guard opened fire and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said that investigations into the motive and circumstances of the shooting are ongoing.

“We are following critical leads and are confident the suspect will be apprehended. We urge the public to remain calm as investigations continue,” Onyango said.

Mutinisa was widely known for his luxury vehicle hire business, which rented high-end Toyota Land Cruisers to ministers, diplomats, and corporate clients in Kampala.

His reputation was built on professionalism, integrity, and a focus on customer satisfaction.

The body of the deceased was taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem immediately after the police arrived at the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
