Nigerian artist and songwriter, Burna Boy has postponed his live concert which was scheduled for September 23, 2023, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The show which was booked at the 90,000-capacity FNB Stadium will be held on December, 16, 2023.

According to Ticket Pro, a South African based company, the show which was cancelled was being delayed because of lack of ticket sales, among other reasons.

However, Spaceship Burna Boy’s management company, refuted the allegations saying that, the show was cancelled due to multiple factors, including production and technical issues caused by the promoters.

Spaceship blamed the concert promoters for not fulfilling their contractual, financial, production and technical obligations, adding that, the ticketing companies should ensure that ticket holders are fully refunded.

“Sadly, it is with great regret that we must inform you that, despite my team’s effort, the show in Johannesburg will be cancelled,” Spaceship stated.

“Production vendors have still not been paid and as such, it is evident at this point that the agreed production standard needed for this venue size cannot be achieved,” Spaceship added.

The management apologized to all its fans and promised to see them soon.

This is the second time in a period of less than a year, Burna Boy being faced with similar challenges. For instance, during his Lagos concert earlier this year.
