A 14-year-old boy has stabbed his brother to death over a piece of fried fish in  Bukomansimbi district.

The killer has been identified as Bashir, and the deceased has been identified as Yasin, aged 16 years, who are both residents of Bulalo village in Bukomansimbi district. Both boys are grandsons of Mwalimu Simbwa.

While being interviewed by journalists on May 17, 2024, one of the locals called Biyinzika said that the late bought himself fried fish and went back home to eat; however, as he was eating it, his brother Bashir asked for some, but the deceased refused to share, and this prompted Bashir to insult and fight Yasin.

Biyinzika added that Yasin got angry and slapped Bashir for disrespecting him because of a piece of fried fish that he had bought for himself; unfortunately, Bashir went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and then impaled it into his brother’s neck.

He added that they (the locals) rushed Yasin to a hospital in Villa Maria to save his life, but sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival by the doctors.

’’It is so sad that someone has lost his life in a meaningless manner; we actually thought Yasin was going to survive, but unfortunately he did not because he had lost a lot of blood,’’ Biyinzika revealed.

This incident happened in Bulalo village in Butenga Sub County, Bukomansimbi village.
