The Buganda Kingdom and members of CBS PEWOSA are mourning the death of one of their key members after getting involved in a head-on collision accident that killed him on the spot around Kako village in Kasaana parish in Masaka city.

The deceased has been identified as Isa Nduggwa, a resident of Samaria in Kako and one of the key teachers of one of Buganda Kingdom’s poverty alleviation projects, CBS PEWOSA.

This incident occurred on Friday evening, March 22, 2024, in Kako around Kasaana parish, after a school van registration number UAT 304M belonging to Sumayiah International School of Kasijagirwa in Masaka city collided with the motorcycle that Nduggwa was travelling on, leading to his death.

The school costa had dropped pupils at home, but on its way back, it got involved in an accident with a Bajaj motorcycle registration number UET 951K that was coming from Nyendo and heading to Kako.

The motorcycle rider identified as a one Robert from the Kako landing site was critically injured and was rushed to Masaka Hospital in a critical condition.

Charles Kasujja Bakokyoyiga, the CBS PEWOSA Coordinator in Buddu, said that they were shocked at the news of Nduggwa’s sudden death, adding that it is going to leave a big gap because he was one of the key teachers who started CBS PEWOSA in Buddu when it was introduced by Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba.

’’Nduggwa’s passing is a very big blow to CBS PEWOSA in Buddu, and I urge all CBS PEWOSA members in Buddu and other counties to comfort Nduggwa’s family in such a disheartening moment,’’ Bakokyoyiga said.

Preliminary information indicates that the school van and motorcycle were taken to the police, and the body of the deceased was taken to the Masaka Hospital mortuary. Nduggwa’s remains will be buried on March 23, 2024, in Samaria, in Buddu county, as per Muslim traditions.
