Brig Gen. Daniel Kakono, the UPDF Commander of the Field Artillery Division, has advised officers and soldiers in the division to embrace financial literacy.

While speaking during a two-day workshop organized by Wazalendo Savings and Credit Co-operative Society in Masindi district, Gen. Kakono acknowledges that it is only wise to take up a loan when the beginning project is fully established with stability.

He advised soldiers to learn from successful members of various units and formations who had used SACCO products on how they achieved their dreams.

Col. Joseph Freddy Onata, the Chief Executive Officer of Wazalendo SACCO, noted that they are currently monitoring and evaluating how much the SACCO has financially empowered and supported its members.

Col. Onata urged members to take advice from their successful peers on how to start small with little money and develop large.

The workshop was attended by Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, and Delegates.
