ATMIS Assures Bulumarere Residents of Guaranteed Security

The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) officers have assured residents of Bulumarere district in Somalia of their commitment to offer them security, thereby, urging them to continue with their normal programs and running businesses.

Maj Donald Naijuka, the ATMIS Commanding Officer of Bulumarere Forward Operating Base, and SSF Commander, Col Abdul Salat, while interacting with town dwellers on September 3, 2023, encouraged residents to carry on with their daily activities without fear and assured them of guaranteed security.

ATMIS, Somali Security Forces (SSF), and local authorities, based in Bulumarere district 123Kms Southwest of Mogadishu City, patrolled the streets of Bulumarere for confidence building and allay fears of Al-Shabaab attack.

Mohammed Sheikh Asuman, the District Commissioner, also urged locals to always identify indicators of negative elements and freely share any information with local authorities.

For the past week, there have been rumors about a possible Al-Shabaab attack on Bulumarere town causing restlessness among communities.
