The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) has today, October 24, 2025, arraigned Vicent Mugisha before the Kyenjojo Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretenses and cheating.

Mugisha was arrested by Kyenjojo Police over allegations of land fraud and grabbing in Ganyinayo Village, Kihuura Sub-county, Kyenjojo District.

According to SHACU, Mugisha has repeatedly been implicated in land disputes in the region, with several complaints registered at Kyenjojo Police Station.

“Between March and September 2025, in Kyenjojo District and Kampala City, Mugisha allegedly defrauded Kababiito Sylvia of UGX 11 million by falsely claiming he was selling her cattle when he was not,” SHACU statement read.

The Anti-Corruption Unit further revealed that numerous reports of land grabbing, trespassing, and malicious damage linked to Mugisha have been received, and further investigations are ongoing.

SHACU says Mugisha’s case is part of wider efforts to dismantle land fraud networks that have long troubled Kyenjojo and other districts across Uganda.
