Amos Turinawe has confessed to killing an electrician in cold blood for ritual purposes while at the vigil of the deceased. Turinawe, a resident of Nyameru sub-county, arrived at the vigil of Conrad Ninsiima on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at around 8:00 p.m. with the mission to spy on the bereaved family to see if it had obtained any clues about the masterminds of the murder; however, he ended up confessing to the bereaved family about the circumstances under which Ninisiima was brutally murdered.

On May 13, 2023, residents of Kabale Municipality woke up to the gruesome murder of Conrad Ninsiima, 32, of Nyaruonkoromi cell, Rushaki ward, southern division, Kabale Municipality, who was murdered in a lodge at Bombocha. People walking along Rushaki-Rugyenderie road in Nyamabale cell later found his body there. They alerted the local authorities, who then reported the incident to police.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Police Spokesperson, confirmed that the deceased was cut on the neck and the blood taken. He also added that a few suspects were named and are currently in detention. These include Ponsiono Besigye, the proprietor of Bombocha Bar and Lodge, and his other two staff members, including Ben Kakuru and Sam Niwahereza, plus the manager of Standard Hotel, Medard Atwebembeire.

Maate also said that their detectives are interrogating the suspects to lead them to other accomplices.

’’We are also searching for the night watchman at Baombocha bar and lodge, the driver of the vehicle that transported the body of Ninisiima to Rushaki, and the boda boda rider who was hired to transport the blood to Lake Bunyonyi, where it was allegedly sold,” said Maate.

At the police station, Turinawe told the police that they have been killing people before taking their blood for ritual sacrifice, and Ninsiima was the sixth person to be killed and his blood harvested for ritual sacrifice.
