Police in Buikwe district are holding a middle-aged man seen in a viral video severely whipping his 13-year-old daughter for reasons yet to be disclosed.

In a disturbing video recorded on a mobile phone, the man identified as Kizito Ronald is seen holding a stick, engaging in a serious verbal altercation with a witness as his daughter stood a stone’s throw away weeping in visible pain and grief.

The incident enraged local residents, who attempted to confront Kizito and demand accountability for his actions.

However, he responded arrogantly, dismissing their concerns and refusing to address the matter.

According to Zziwa Deo Batukawa, the Makindu Najja area chairman,Kizito’s violent tendencies extend beyond his family.

“Any neighbor who tried to intervene risked being attacked,” Zziwa said.

The community was unable to handle his aggressive behavior, reported the matter to the nearest police station, and sought justice for the young victim.

Roy Nangobi, Kizito’s wife, shared her own harrowing experiences of abuse, revealing that she too has been a victim of his violence.

“Sometimes, I sleep in trees to escape being beaten,” she stated.

Nangobi accused Kizito of neglecting his responsibilities as a father, saying he did not provide basic necessities such as food and their child’s health needs.

The child reportedly has a health condition that requires attention, but Kizito has shown no concern for her well-being.

The Makindu Najja Police spokesperson Hellen Butoto confirmed Kizito Ronald’s arrest on charges of child torture.

“He will be taken to court to face the law and answer for his actions,” Butoto stated.

The case has sparked widespread outrage and calls for stronger measures to protect vulnerable children and families from domestic abuse.

Residents are hopeful that justice will prevail and that this incident will serve as a warning against such acts of cruelty.
