The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, has expressed his dissatisfaction with some leaders of the Buganda Kingdom in his absence as he received treatment for his health.

He said this in a streamed video while addressing the congregation that gathered to celebrate his 31st anniversary as the King of Buganda.

The Kabaka noted that despite his absence from the country, he has been following everything going on in the Kingdom.

“It is in these trying times that the Kingdom has been able to witness those who do not uphold the Kingdom’s norms, values, and virtues,” Kabaka said.

He also urged the public to take caution when dealing with people who have given a bad name to the Kingdom and the country by not following the specified rules and regulations of the Kingdom’s leadership.

“Such elements mislead the general public about the Kingdom and the country at large,” he added.

However, the Kabaka expressed his happiness upon reaching this anniversary celebration and thanked Namirembe Diocese for presiding over the prayers.

He gave hope to the congregation about his health, saying that it was improving and getting better every day.

The Bishop of Namirembe, Rt. Rev. Moses Banja, and the entire diocese congratulated the Kabaka upon reaching this anniversary and thanked him for his good leadership, especially in this trying time of his ill health.

He further thanked God for enabling the Kabaka to rule over the kingdom and also for encouraging his subjects to work hard, fight poverty, and grow coffee while fighting diseases like HIV/AIDS and fistula.

On July 31, 2024, Buganda Kingdom celebrated the 31st coronation anniversary of the Kabaka with prayers at St Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe.
