On June 9, 2023, 51 heroes will be awarded medals as Uganda commemorates Heroes Day. This year’s Heroes Day celebrations will be held at Kasala Catholic parish Butuntumula Subcounty, Luwero district.

While addressing the media at the Uganda Media Centre, the minister for presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, confirmed that the chief guest will be H.E. the president of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

During the address, Babalanda urged Ugandans and especially people in the greater Luwero area to attend and celebrate Heroes Day.

There  will be a health camp that will offer free services such as male circumcision, HIV tests, blood donation, cancer screening, and other health services.

This year’s theme will be ‘Arise Uganda’.

“Now that the country is at peace , we should help our people get out of poverty through PDM and Emyooga programs,” Babalanda added.
